They don’t call him “Money” for nothing. According to Forbes, Floyd Mayweather is expected to pass the $1 billion landmark in career earnings following his fight with Conor McGregor on August 26.

Only a select band of athletes, including Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and Michael Schumacher, have surpassed the billion dollar mark, with Mayweather looking likely to become the first boxer to do so. With $750 million in career earnings to date, Mayweather is already the richest combat fighter in history. In 2015, he earned roughly $250 million alone for his “Fight of the Century” bout against Manny Pacquaio — a figure that is expected to be eclipsed by the forthcoming match.

Mayweather could double down on his earnings even further by stepping into The MMA Octagon against McGregor, should he deem it worth the risk to his legacy. The boxer, while favorite in the ring, would go into any wrestling match against McGregor as the underdog.
