Lady Gaga has been a passionate advocate for transgender rights throughout her illustrious career. Her 2011 smash hit “Born This Way” for instance, was the first song in Billboard’s chart history to even contain the word ‘transgender,’ and its inclusion saw the song being banned in nations such as Malaysia. So it comes as little surprise that Gaga is among the most vocal critics of President Donald Trump’s extremely controversial decision last night to ban all transgendered people from serving in the military.
Trump’s decision is a rollback on an Obama-era policy that allowed transgendered individuals to serve in the armed forces without discrimination. Trump has said that the U.S. will no longer “accept or allow” such citizens from serving. So Gaga took to Twitter to unleash a firestorm of tweets directed toward the president, telling him among other things that he has “endangered lives.” See all of her responses below.
