While they’re best known for their reality fare like Huang’s World and Fuck That’s Delicious, VICELAND has entered the world of scripted programming with the music-centric, What Would Diplo Do?

Described by The Los Angeles Times as the “Veep of DJ culture,” the self-referential series stars James Van Der Beek as an elevated version of the Mad Decent head honcho as he navigates the ups and downs of an industry where being “lit” is a must.

The concept of the show was built out of a promo for 2016’s Mad Decent Block Party which served as a quasi proof-of-concept for the show.

For those intrigued by the meta premise, VICELAND has put up the first episode of the series which finds “Diplo” getting into a Twitter war with Calvin Harris.

What Would Diplo Do? airs Thursday’s at 10 p.m.
