Canadian pop star Grimes released her critically-acclaimed Art Angels album in 2015. Although she’s been relatively quiet on the music front as of late, she recently took to Instagram announcing her inclusion in the most recent edition of Harper’s Bazaar Icons, and assured fans she’s hard at work on new music.

Grimes says she’s been venturing into “unexplored sonic landscapes.” “I kno i’ve been quiet lately – in the studio every day trying to legit make something you’ve never heard before,” she wrote. “Unexplored sonic landscapes. I need another month or 2 of pure unadulterated creativity at which point I will begin finishing tracks. Won’t let u down.”

This is the first new music update we’ve received from Grimes since her V Magazine cover story in November 2016. At the time, she told the publication she was “really vibing on making something really slow and gorgeous that just breathes, and has room to breathe.”
