Where the runway meets the street

Whether you’re an unapologetic hypebeast or you just like the occasional ultra-hype item, the video above might convince you to change your ways.

First, we get an (urban) dictionary definition of what a hypebeast is. They are “sneakerheads who only rock hyped-up shit to get props b/c they got no self worth or sense of style” and “a kid that collect clothing, shoes, and accessories for the sole purpose of impressing others.” Not exactly flattering descriptions.

Luckily, Canadian fashion vlogger “Nick,” who posted the video, explains that you can still wear hype items without being a hypebeast, but it all depends on how you wear them.

The key is to treat clothes like you would ingredients. You don’t make a cake just using flour, so don’t base an entire outfit around your T-shirt — however sought-after.
