George Clooney sits in the director’s chair once again for his upcoming film Suburbicon. Written by the Coen Brothers, his latest film is a crime comedy about a home invasion that rattles a seemingly perfect, white-picket-fence family town.

Although there are some humorous moments in the trailer, Clooney explains in a recent interview with EW that Suburbicon is “a pretty angry and dark film.” “It’s very, very dark. It starts out feeling like a Disney film and, by the end, it feels like it takes a pretty dramatic, serious turn to, like, an acid trip of some form,” he elaborates.

Suburbicon has been in the works for decades. According to the film’s producer Joel Silver, he and Ethan Coen originally wrote the film’s script back in 1986. In 2005, it was announced that George Clooney would star in and direct the film.

It also stars Matt Damon, Julianne Moore, Josh Brolin, and Oscar Isaac, and the film has been selected to be screened in the main competition section of the 74th Venice International Film Festival. It'll also be screened at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. Suburbicon’s full theatrical release is scheduled for November 9, 2017, according to IMDb.
