Barack Obama can now add another decoration to his CV — one of his tweets has just become the most liked in Twitter history.
On Saturday night, Obama posted a set of Nelson Mandela quotes in response to the violence which had broken out in Charlottesville. “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion…” the first tweet reads, accompanied by a picture of the former President smiling at four children.
Now sitting at over 3 million likes and counting, the tweet sees Obama surpass Ariana Grande, whose post after the Manchester terrorist attack in May attracted some 2.7 million hearts. Since vacating office in January, Obama has used Twitter infrequently, opting to mainly comment on major events and charitable causes.
Staying with Twitter, remember the time Donald Trump tweeted “covfefe“?
