Here is the latest entry in our partnership with COLORS BERLIN, an online music channel that aims to break down the barriers of the musical landscape. ALL COLORS NO GENRES is their main mission – from hip-hop to indie, electronica, R&B and pop, COLORS BERLIN allows artists to present themselves and their work in a contemporary way. We’ve teamed up with them on a series of video shorts in which artists are invited to perform one of their own tracks in the COLORS studio.

Funk is literally in Topaz Jones’ blood. His father played in funk bands throughout the ’70s and ’80s, and even before that his grandmother was assembling Motown groups in their heyday. But Jones doesn’t need to rest on the laurels of his heritage, he is more than capable of creating a sonic world rich with groove.

Need proof? Look no further than the above; a rousing performance of his single “Tropicana” wrought in lush orange for COLORS Berlin. Initially released as a standalone track, it would eventually find its way as a bonus on last year’s Arcade, Jones’ debut full-length. Stream that below via Spotify.
