Arguably one of tennis’ greatest ever players, Serena Williams, the 23-time Grand Slam winner is reported to have given birth to a healthy baby girl weighing in at 6 pounds, 13 ounces. For all of those out of the loop, the star revealed all in the run up to the eventual birth of the child in an intimate cover story with Vanity Fair.

Sources confirm that Williams went into labour on Friday, September 1, following admittance to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Palm Beach, Florida on Wednesday. Together with fiancé Alexis Ohanian, the newborn was born during the U.S. open, which Serena has coincidentally won a massive six times throughout her tenure.
