Fresh off Justin Bieber’s Purpose Tour, backup dancer Mona Berntsen has released a thoughtful video looking exploring her profession.

In the video, Berntsen talks about the physical difficulties of dancing, saying “we tape over our injuries and pretend they’re not here and just move along.”

But for the dancer, the pain is worth being able to express herself through movement.

Berntsen also offers some advice to aspiring dancers, saying: “Sometimes it may seem like it’s only about who you know in this industry about who you talk to or hang out with to get to certain levels or jobs.

“In reality, it’s not like that. For true career longevity, it’s about the passion for your art, the dedication, and persistence.”
