There's fast, and then there's fast. Buggati has shared a video of its 1,479bhp Chiron accelerating from a record-breaking nought to 400km/h – or 249mph – and then back to nought again.
With nothing new in the pipeline at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show, Bugatti used the platform to flex the mind-boggling power of its crown jewel. With F1 star Juan-Pablo Montaya behind the wheel, the vehicle went from 0 to 400km/h (248.55mph) and back to 0 in 41.96 seconds of time, while traveling a distance of 3.112km (1.933 miles).
Before listening, you might want to turn down your headphones, as this engine is loud:
Montaya, who will be given another chance to crack his record next year, spoke of the car's speed, saying: “Of course, the Chiron is a super sports car that requires your full attention when you are behind the wheel. At the same time, it gave me such a feeling of security and reliability that I was entirely relaxed and really enjoyed myself during my two days with the car."
