Following an announcement, Nintendo has confirmed that the NES Classic Edition will return to production in the near future. News arrives as the SNES Classic is slated to release stateside at the end of this month.

The worldwide rollout for the NES Classic is in turn expected to begin in 2018, with units hitting retailers by summer.

With a concerted effort placed on producing enough units of the aforementioned SNES to sustain customers beyond that of the initial launch, we can only hope to expect the same for the NES Mini.

For now, this is all we have surrounding the return of the console, but as always, stay tuned for more.

In related news, Nintendo might be working on an N64 Mini.
