VH1 threw it back to the 90s Monday night with a VH1 Hip-Hop Honors show titled “The ‘90s Game Changers.” Missy Elliott opened the special with a performance of her song “She’s a B**ch” from her second album Da Real World from 1999.

The live show paid aesthetic homage to the Hype Williams-directed music video, with Missy and her backup dancers clad in black latex.

The program was hosted by Girls Trip actor Regina Hall, and honored notable people and moments in ’90s hip-hop. In addition to Missy, Lil’ Kim, Remy Ma, Ty Dolla $ign, Mariah Carey and others performed.

Iconic music video director Hype Williams was an honoree of “The ’90s Game Changers,” as well as comedian Martin Lawrence, Jermaine Dupri, and Master P. DJ Khaled and his son Asahd honored Mariah Carey for her legendary hip-hop collaborations that helped bring hip-hop into the mainstream consciousness.
