If you’re not familiar yet with Los Angeles-based painter/illustrator Kristen Liu-Wong, then it’s well worth checking out her latest series.
Titled Conflict/Resolution, the artworks focus on female strength while upending conventional standards of beauty and what it means to be a woman. With acrylic paint, she illustrates what it means to be a woman today, both sexually and emotionally on gouache pieces of wood. With bright hues of pink and neon green, her work is both subversive and liberating.
Her solo exhibit will take place from September 23 through October 21 Los Angeles’ Corey Helford Gallery from September 23 through October 21.
