The South Korean native unveiled his latest creation with the “Lightning Lamp” and explains that his inspiration for the table lamp comes from an old Korean phrase — “Being struck by a thunder out of blue sky” — which describes people confronting unexpected catastrophic events.
Utilizing a lightning bolt traveling from a cloud down to the ground (or base of the lamp) as the foundation of his design, he then worked with glass blowers to construct the shape of a cloud.
The outcome consist of a table lamp outfitted with a stainless steel neck or lightning bolt, that simply holds the glass cloud.
In addition, four different colors to reflect the skies at different times of the day, such as early morning, daytime, sunset and midnight were created.
