Round Two opened its first store in Richmond, Virginia about 4 years ago. The state capital is known for its eclectic scene and creative culture that’s given birth to influential retail spots like Need Supply Co. It’s an unlikely place for a business to call home, let alone a streetwear and sneakers hub, but three friends: Sean Wotherspoon, Chris Russow, and Luke Fracher, managed to build a movement through linking with the locals and offering great product at reasonable prices.

The appeal of Round Two, aside from its products on offer, boils down to the fact that they also buy their stock from their customers. Gently-used sneakers and clothing populate the racks at prices that are far, far less than what you’d find on other resale platforms. That, and the people that populate the shop ooze with charisma and have a great rapport with anyone who walks in the door.

If you need proof, just dedicate a day to watching their highly popular YouTube show, which is currently filming its fourth season to coincide with their newest store: a space in New York City’s Lower East Side.

Sean Wotherspoon has been on a tear lately as well. His sneaker design for Nike was chosen for this year’s Vote Forward campaign, consisting of an Air Max 97 upper in colorful corduroy with an Air Max 1 sole. We stopped by the new shop before it opened this morning, where there was already a line that stretched from Stanton to Rivington. Eager customers couldn’t wait to check out the newest addition to the neighborhood, which already has a rich history of streetwear and sneaker stores from jeffstaple’s now-shuttered Reed Space, ALIFE, and Extra Butter.

Among the wares in stock are pieces from the Louis Vuitton x Supreme collaboration, the Nike x Undefeated Air Max 97s, and the friends-and-family pair of KITH x Coca-Cola x Converse Chuck Taylor 1970s, replete with the custom YETI cooler they came in. There’s also an exclusive tee for sale that says “New York Was Fun,” and is based on a letter sent by Wotherspoon’s younger brother, Jack.

Check out what people wore to the opening and have a look inside the store in our image galleries.
