The standard condom size has been set at 6.69 inches for some time now, but no longer. After studies have found that the average American man’s erect penis is about an inch shorter, at 5.57 inches, one U.S. company has lobbied the FDA to change its mandate on how long condoms should be.
The company, Global Protection Corp, owns condom manufacturer MyONE, a brand now offering 60 sizes of condom. Length and girth varies from 4.9 to 9.4 inches and 3.5 to 5 inches, respectively, taking into account a wider variety of penis sizes – and more in line with what the research shows. The custom condoms are branded “myONE Perfect Fit.”
