The first trailer for Hangman has been released, starring Al Pacino as a homicide detective trailing a sick and twisted serial killer.

Set to the tune of “House of the Rising Sun,” the trailer introduces us to Pacino’s homicide detective Ray Archer and his criminal-profiling partner Will Ruiney (Karl Urban). They're trying to catch a notoriously violent killer who is playing a sadistic version of the kids' game Hangman.

Though it's unclear exactly how, it appears Pacino's character may have something to do with the killer's motives. “I don’t want to see them die for what I did,” he growls in the trailer.

The film also stars Brittany Snow as journalist Christi Davies, shadowing the detectives. Watch the trailer above.
