A first look at what is rumored to be Daniel Day-Lewis’ last role before he retires from acting is here thanks to the first trailer for Phantom Thread.

Set in the glamor of 1950’s post-war London, Day-Lewis takes on the role of renowned dress-maker Reynolds Woodcock, who is at the center of British fashion until he comes across a young and strong-willed woman, Alma (Vicky Krieps) and his carefully tailored life is thrust into relative chaos.

In the movie, releasing on Christmas Day, Day-Lewis reunites with director Paul Thomas Anderson, who is back for the first time since his 2014 movie Inherent Vice.

Shrouded in secrecy since the film was announced over a year ago, this trailer is the first official look at what to expect from Day-Lewis’s expected last appearance on the big screen.
