Snapchat’s Spectacles may be a flop, but that of course isn’t stopping the company from unleashing new features for the app, which is currently ranked the 15th most popular social media platform with 255 million active users. Now, you can take advantage of updates such as shooting longer videos, sharing links, going ghost and more.
Initially, you could only upload videos of 10 seconds to the social media platform, but Snapchat has since lengthened that to 60 seconds, albeit you get to record six 10-second clips that are showcased in chronological order. Also, if there is a portion you don’t want in the final edit, you can remove as you see fit.
In addition, iOS and Android users can share links from other apps by using the iOS share tray, eliminating the need to copy and paste URLs from a browser to Snapchat. Make your friends aware of articles and shopping items all with a single tap.
A new Ghost mode allows you to temporarily turn of location services for those who do not want Snap Map to share their location all the time. You can simply set a timer and choose the duration for the location feature to be off.
Lastly, a new shortcut lets iOS users watch a friend’s Story or directly send a Snap by tapping and pressing on a given friend’s user name.
Be sure your Snapchat app is up to date in order to take advantage of these new features.
