Rick Owens has naturally been in the fashion limelight the past week. With an unsanctioned, politically charged model at Paris Fashion Week, the Lord of Darkness made sure the event didn’t take the spotlight from his Spring/Summer 2016 collection.
Now, based on his signature palette and workwear aesthetic, the designer has once again partnered with adidas to present two new silhouettes and give his iconic Runner a makeover. The two new models, the Cargo Sandals and Clog, are based on the ubiquitous Runner. The former imagines the Runner as a futuristic military-infused sportswear sandal, focused on masculinity and practicality, while the latter features a gladiator-style design. Both are made up of neoprene and nylon atop the American designer's divisive outsole.
The collection also includes the classic Runner in a selection of new colorways, as well as the Superstar Ripple boots which take Owens signature stretch boot and equips it with the adidas Ripple sole.
The adidas by Rick Owens collection will be available online from mid-February 2016 in men's and women's sizes. View the collection above check out the 15 best sneakers worn at Paris Fashion Week.
