Alexander McQueen has opened a new flagship store at 27 Old Bond Street in Mayfair, London.
The retail space was conceived by Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton and architect Smiljan Radic. Its design showcases the brand’s fascination with nature in its use of varying shades of walnut and oak woods, while glass cylinders reflect light and forge connections between the store’s three floors.
The ground floor is home to womenswear, the first floor to menswear, and the second floor will host an experiential space designed, according to the label’s press release, to “encourage the formation of a creative community.”
Chilean artist Marcela Correa contributed to the new store with sculptures in alabaster, bronze, granite, and wood. These have been specifically positioned to “enrich the narrative” and “subliminally guide visitors on their travels through the space.”
The store is open now. Check out the space in the gallery above.
