Alicia Keys has definitively asserted her claim as one of the foremost musical ambassadors to New York City. If anyone tries to refute that statement, please direct your attention this way. In short, girl loves the Big Apple. So who better to hop on a feature guest spot on her new track "Blended Family" than one of New York's other premier musical hombres: the 'Pretty Boy Flacko' A$AP Rocky himself.
The track comes along with the announcement that Keys will be releasing her new album Here next month, her sixth full-length to date. She gave a brief tease of what the album might sound like with the recent release of "In Common," a rhythmically intense track that seemed a far cry from her previous sound.
"Blended Family" seems to continue down this same path of sonic exploration, but it is marked by the open-hearted urgency expressed by both Keys and Rocky on the track. The song finds both musicians sharing their memories of family, with Rocky delivering a particularly moving verse on his childhood memories.
