Designer: AMI

Location: Paris, France

Season: Spring/Summer 2018

Key Pieces: Paneled resort shirts, double-denim sets with contrast stitching, cropped stripe trousers, shiny purple chore coats, and burgundy jumpsuits.

Editor’s Notes: Designer Alexandre Mattiussi has a knack for French-inspired collections, infusing utilitarian menswear staples with a signature savoir-faire.

This particular show, held by the Seine in an airy space characterized by a pink sand floor, toed the line between tourism as fashion and upscale resort wear. Nautical stripes were brightened in lime green hues, which the designer says were inspired by Lego bricks.

The playful primary colors were contrasted by reimagined '90s workwear tropes, like an indigo denim set of a short-sleeved shirt and below-the-knee shorts highlighted with contrast stitching.
