A$AP Rocky is reportedly being held in solitary confinement and facing six years jail time in a Swedish prison, according to an Instagram post by Mob member, A$AP Ferg. The news follows an altercation that took place last Sunday in Stockholm. Rocky was due to headline London’s Wireless Festival this Sunday and splash! Festival next weekend.
On Wednesday, Rocky was arrested in Stockholm along with three others for suspected “gross assault,” according to CBS News. His charge has since been reduced to assault but according to Ferg’s post, Rocky is being held in solitary confinement without visiting or phone call privileges.
The #FREEFLACKO hashtag has begun to gain traction as details of the rapper’s detainment come to light, with fans and celebs alike become increasingly concerned with the situation in Stockholm. Jaden Smith and Travis Scott are the latest figures to voice their solitary with Rocky and to call for his release.

A$AP Rocky was originally scheduled to headline London’s Wireless Festival, however, he was noticeably missing from the lineup. Fellow rapper Travis Scott also showed support for Rocky, calling out “Free Rocky” during his own set at Wireless.

A$AP Nast also voiced his outrage via an Instagram post where he dons a “FREE ROCKY” bracelet. This is the latest celebrity response and call for justice. It seems the rap world will continue their #FREEFLACKO campaign until Rocky is finally released.
In a recent interview with the New York Times, Rocky’s lawyer had this to say: “[A$AP Rocky] of course, is very disappointed and this is a catastrophe for his tour,” also adding that the detainment was unnecessary. “Of course a world artist like him would come back to Sweden if there is a trial in the summer or fall.”
Following the recent detention hearing, the Prosecution Authority decided today that Rocky will remain in custody for an additional two weeks. If the investigation isn’t concluded in that time, the authorities can apply to detain the rapper for another two weeks.
News of the incident first emerged on Tuesday when footage appeared online of an apparent attack involving the artist sometime before he was due to perform at SMASH hip-hop festival in Stockholm. The first clip surfaced on Reddit and appeared to show a group attacking a man in the street. Stockholm police press officer Mats Eriksson told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, “He has been kicked. He also has cuts on both of his arms. It is caused by some type of object, but not a knife.”
Later, clips filmed prior to the incident were published by A$AP Rocky himself, showing him and his associates engaged in what appeared to be a dispute with two young men regarding headphones or a cellphone.
In Rocky’s Instagram post (above), the rapper and his associates can be seen attempting to get the two men to walk away, with the rapper writing in his caption, “SO A FEW DRUG ADDICTS ARE NOT MY FANS , WE DONT KNOW THESE GUYS AND WE DIDNT WANT TROUBLE , THEY FOLLOWED US FOR 4 BLOCKS , AND THEY WERE SLAPPING GIRLS BUTTS WHO PASSED , GIVE ME A BREAK.”
In the video, a woman off-camera can be heard saying that one of the men “slapped my ass and my girlfriend’s ass.” Watch the clip above.
