Scotch (that's Scottish, not the kind of whiskey) sneaker retailer hanon have been enlisted by sportswear giants ASICS and Onitsuka Tiger for a pair of sneakers based around intrepid Scottish merchant Thomas Glover, who made fame and fortune in the athletic companies' Japanese homeland. The first colorway references the Land of the Rising Sun with a golden yellow and black colorway sporting a subtle reference to Glover's iconic mustache on the heel, while the second depicts the Thistle (Scotland's national emblem) via a plush mix of mint green suede with purple nubuck overlays.
Always one to pay tribute to their roots (see their "3 Castles," "Whisky Gold" and "Aberdeen Leopards" sneakers), hanon's sneakers are set to drop September 27 via their webstore.
