Following a batshit Twitter meltdown where she sent tweets to former One Direction member Zayn Malik that bordered on racial abuse, Azealia Banks has been suspended from the social network. Furthermore she has been dropped from Rinse FM's Born & Bred festival where she was set to headline this summer. Known for her Twitter meltdowns it seems like the social network finally took a clear stance on the matter by suspending her account. After a previous half-apology over Twitter, where the singer said "Not sorry I said it. But sorry for the way I made people feel," she has now followed up with a proper apology on her Instagram account: "Dear World,
Now that the immediacy of the infamous incident has worn off, I've had some time to decompress & take a more rational assessment of things. I want to extend my sincerest apologies to the world. Employing racial/sexual slurs/stereotypes in attempts to make fun of or degrade another person or group is absolutely unacceptable and is not fair or fun for anyone. Allowing my anger to get the best of me, I've managed to insult millions of people without reason. And for that I give my deepest apologies."
Let's see how this whole thing continues to play out.
