Banksy

Banksy strikes again right in time for the holidays. The famous street artist who recently raffled off a giant sculpture in aid of refugee support services, confirms his latest work in Port Talbot in South Wales.

From one angle, the piece shows stereotypical winter spirit as a child dressed in cold gear with a sled enjoys the snow shower while trying to catch the flakes on their tongue. However, on the other side of the wall, the piece secretly continues revealing that the snowflakes are actually falling ash billowing from what appears to be a dumpster on fire.

The clever placement of the mural encompasses a hidden message representing Port Talbot being named as the UK’s most polluted town in a new World Health Organization (WHO) report back in May, which they later apologized for.

Banksy confirmed the mural by uploading a video of the work to his Instagram. The video shows the mural up close and accompanied by the children’s Christmas song “Little Snowflake”. The camera rises above the garage and shows Port Talbot’s rooftops and industrial works wreathed in smoke.
