New York's Eleven Madison Park has become the first U.S. establishment since 2004 to top the world's best restaurants list, as here we get a look at the 2017 rankings.

Coming in at number two is Osteria Francescana of Italy, which took home the title for 2016. Rounding out the trio of top restaurants is Spain's El Celler de Can Roca.

This year's winner were announced on Wednesday during a ceremony at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne. More than 1,000 chefs, food writers and other experts from 26 geographical regions have ranked the 2017 establishments.
