Even though things are changing with longer videos, new algorithms and more, Instagram continues to surge as today’s premiere social media network, surpassing 400 million users late last year. Of course, your feed is only as good as who you follow, so a strong set of accounts is paramount in getting the most out of Instagram. Whether you’re looking for inspiration or just a bit of eye candy, IG is packed with incredible imagery from all over the world.

Switching up our ongoing 5 Instagram Accounts to Follow feature once again, this week team Highsnobiety looked to the Bay Area and chose five of our favorite San Francisco-based photographers on Instagram. Each of these accounts share amazing photos of the California city on a regular basis, so you’re sure to find someone new to keep your feed interesting.

Read on for our SF picks.

Favorite account to follow from San Francisco: @Mightykills - His understanding of light and color schemes is next level.

Favorite place to shoot in San Francisco: Cameron House. This is the infamous The Pursuit of Happyness basketball court. No matter how many times I come here to shoot, it's always a refreshing view.

Favorite place to shop in San Francisco: Barneys.

Footwear of choice: ACRONYM x NikeLab Air Presto Mid.

Favorite account to follow from San Francisco: Too many to list. Most of my friends in SF are crazy talented. If I had to pick one right now I would say the homie @gradybrannan because his life is literally a movie.

Favorite place to shoot in San Francisco: It’s tough to pick just 1 location in SF. I’d have to say the bridges, they really never get old.

Favorite place to shop in San Francisco: I’m pretty minimal for the most part. I have a closet full of basic black tees, black jeans, black socks. I’ve worked with brands like Black Scale, Benny Gold, FTC, etc. So luckily I get blessed with the occasional care package.

Footwear of choice: Black/White Vans Old Skool.

Favorite account to follow from San Francisco: My favorite SF Instagram photographer is @independentcbh. Before meeting him I was a fan of his hub @streetsofsf and the way that they captured the city. We became friends through photography and became travel buddies afterwards. If it wasn't for Instagram none of this would be possible.

Favorite place to shoot in San Francisco: One of my favorite spots to shoot at is Battery Spencer or anything around the Golden Gate Bridge. It's a national trademark of the world and it's right in our backyard!

Favorite place to shop in San Francisco: My favorite place to shop has to be Chinatown! I love being around the culture and there's so many opportunities to shoot. My three pillars to photography are the landscapes/people/food. In this case, Chinatown's food is off the charts for me.

Footwear of choice: My Converse Chuck Taylors travel everywhere I go!

Favorite account to follow from San Francisco: Some of my favorite Instagram accounts from SF are @lisabao @cas415 @ron_415 @independentcbh and @Nicholassteinbergphotography. They inspire me to get out and shoot.

Favorite place to shoot in San Francisco: My favorite place to shoot in SF is Battery Spencer or Hawk Hill, especially when there's low fog it's amazing to see.

Favorite place to shop in San Francisco: Niketown

Footwear of choice: Any Nike running shoe because they're light and very comfortable.

Favorite account to follow from San Francisco: My favorite IG has to be @dennistodisco right now. His visuals are insane while keeping people informed about what is relevant in today's culture.

Favorite place to shoot in San Francisco: My favorite place to shoot is anywhere new for the first time. Although SF is only 7 x 7, there are still plenty of views left to discover around every corner.

Favorite place to shop in San Francisco: My favorite place to shop in SF has to be Haight Street. It's always a great time seeing my friends at Pink Dolphin, Black Scale and Diamond. Haight Street is also known for its thrift shops like Wastelands that always have the rarest pieces.

Footwear of choice: My footwear of choice of all time would have to be the CDG Converse Low-Top because they are comfortable, durable, and have an eye catching design.
