Spoiler alert — if you haven’t seen Andrés Muschietti’s IT remake yet — Bill Skarsgård is an absolutely amazing Pennywise the Dancing Clown. The 27-year-old actor no doubt brings something undeniably creepy to the table while playing the terrifying clown, with one of his signature elements being a sinister, pointy smile.

While recently paying a visit to Conan, Skarsgård revealed how he first began to deliver such a smile, ultimately by bringing his bottom lip to a point. Bill in turn disclosed that he originally saw his brother Gustaf doing it, so he thought he would try it too.

“It’s a funny story because my older brother, Gustaf [Skarsgård]… he had this ability to point his lip in a very strange way,” the IT star said. “For some reason—I don’t know how—I understood that I could do it as well.”

Following, Skarsgård went on to demonstrate the look for Conan, as you can press play above to check it out.
