Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves are returning to reprise their roles as Bill and Ted, respectively, in director Dean Parisot's Bill & Ted reboot, Bill & Ted Face the Music. The third installment in the franchise is due out in August of 2020, as today we get our first look at Reeves and Winter in their starring roles, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.
Franchise writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon have penned the script for Bill & Ted Face the Music, which is a follow-up to 1991's Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. In the film, Bill and Ted continue to make music for their band, Wyld Stallyns.
“They were told when they were teenagers that they were going to save reality, and they’ve been working on it the whole time,” says Matheson. “Now an emissary from the future comes and says, ‘You’ve got to do it right now. We’ve got literally 80 minutes or all of reality will come to an end.’”
Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine star alongside Reeves and Winter as the daughters of Bill and Ted, aiding in their quest to inspire the utopian society of the future. Kid Cudi also features in the movie, in addition to Kristen Schaal, Anthony Carrigan, Erinn Hayes, Jayma Mays, Jillian Bell, Holland Taylor, Beck Bennett, William Sadler, Hal Landon Jr., and Amy Stoch.
Bill & Ted Face the Music releases August 21, 2020.
