To kick off the new year, Chef Andrew Rea, aka Binging with Babish, is back with another culinary delight. Here, the YouTube chef takes on The Simpsons by recreating Principal Skinner’s P.O.W Stew and Ralph Wiggum’s infamous crayon sandwich.
Inspired by the 1996 “Team Homer” episode, Babish follows the recipe Skinner recalls he was “forced to subsist on” in Vietnam, made from a thin stew of fish, vegetables, prawns, coconut milk, and four kinds of rice.” With this in mind, Babish mixes a selection of vegetables and seafood in a coconut milk base, before using his trusty pressure cooker to speed up the rice-cooking process.
As a surprise addition, Babish then whips up something a little more on the experimental side. Inspired by the adorable Ralph Wiggum, Babish applies a healthy dose of food coloring to separate batches of grated cheese, placing each segment between bread and then grilling it.
