Directed by Nigerian-American artist Amarachi Nwosu, Black in Tokyo gives unique insights into the racial underbelly of Japan's capital.

Often known for its scenery, fashion, and interesting subcultures, Japan has steadily become an attractive spot for entrepreneurs, creatives and foodies. With very strict rules on obtaining citizenship, many foreigners looking to settle in the city are finding new ways to connect with locals while sharing parts of their own background and culture.

From producers to artists to barbers, Nwosu's mini-doc looks at how notions of blackness are explored beyond the Western view and how homogenous cultures are slowly opening themselves up to the idea.
