The futuristic setting of Blade Runner 2049 relied on elaborate miniature sets to help define a cinematic look for its dystopian sci-fi future, and in addition, quite a few of the scenes were enhanced with digital imagery.

Montreal-based studio Rodeo FX has released a visual effects clip highlighting its work on the movie, as we see that a few of the film’s environmental shots were completely digital, while also showcasing how some of the production’s practical locations were enhanced with some CGI.

Overall, the clip emphasizes not just Rodeo’s computer generated skills, but also how far visual effects have dramatically improved since the original Blade Runner from 1982.
