While a number of Marvel programs have recently been cancelled by Netflix, a showrunner for The Punisher is hoping to breathe life into a new superhero series. Steve Lightfoot spoke with ComicBook.com this week about his ambition for a new Blade show.

"I think, again, this is just me, I have zero idea where any of these things are, but I'm a big Blade fan," Lightfoot says. "I would always be excited to see that one done for TV, I think you could do an amazing television version of that."

The character Blade has of course already appeared in a trilogy of live-action films, as actor Wesley Snipes hopes there is more in store for the franchise.

"There are a lot of conversations going around right now and we’re very blessed to have the enthusiasm and interest in something coming from that world again," Snipes stated back in August. "We’ve created two projects that fit perfectly into this world and, when people see them, I think they’re only going to have a problem with deciding which one they love the most."

At this time, this is all we have on a possible Blade television series. For the original report, head on over to ComicBook.com.
