Founder and creative director of FOCUS GROUP WEST, Blake Kuwahara, presents a sophomore collection of eyewear exclusively through his eponymous label. As with last season, the CFDA member continues to take a conceptual approach, working around the idea of a “frame within a frame.” By using this idea as a point of reference, the designer aims to “create tension through the integration of two different silhouettes.” Yet another inspiration in Kuwahara’s eight-frame offering is architecture — a theme he carries through consciously naming each of the styles after an architect like Zaha Hadid, Le Corbusier, Tadao Ando and Frank Lloyd Wright.

Over the years, Kuwahara has become known for his use of unique engineering and production techniques, which are often ahead of the curve. In this latest delivery, he doesn’t depart from his dedication to quality and forward-thinking design. Each frame is handcrafted in Japan using color-saturated Italian and Japanese acetates.

Prices range from $599 to $650.
