A rarely seen 1987 BMW Alpina B7 Turbo Coupé/3 is up for auction at Sotheby’s, and it’s one of just 17 like it. Only 130 B7 Turbos were built on BMW’s E24 6 Series chassis and drivetrain, and this is an even rarer model.

The beautifully outfitted black vehicle features a striking red leather interior. Inside, a plaque reads “Autosattlerei Wenger, Exklusive Interieur.” The auction house suggests that this indicates the interior was retrimmed into its present red leather finish and fitted with sport seats after leaving Alpina.

The model rides on Alpina multispoke wheels and is accompanied by a complete trunk-mounted tool kit and first aid kit.

According to RM Sotheby’s, “The engine boasts slightly lower compression, a ratio of 7.45:1 instead of 8.0:1. While normally slightly less power would make a model less desirable, these are very highly sought after in Alpina circles due to their rarity and lower-end grunt, making for more tractable performance.”

The ultra-rare Coupé has an estimated selling price of between €140,000 and €160,000 (approximately $159,000-$181,000). Head over to RM Sotheby’s to place your bid.
