To give a taste of his forthcoming EP dropping later this summer, Bobby Brackins teamed up with Marc E. Bassy to create the perfect song for this weekend’s pool hangout, “OB.” In addition to the hypnotic single, the two also dropped a playful lyric video shot by Brian Beckwith.

The track introduces the term “OB,” a phrase inspired by Brackins and his friends (they even have a group message dedicated to it), that means “our baby” or “our boo.” In other words, she’s the girl that all the guys are talking about. In the video, she’s hanging by the pool in metallic one pieces and modeling transparent visors. The project is essentially Cali retro at its finest, especially when paired with colorful lyric graphics and a heavy ’80s vibe.

Speaking to Highsnobiety Brackins explained, “An “OB” is someone that isn’t the main person you like at the time and its fine if any of your friends want to date her or flirt with her.” If any women out there are thinking “WTF?,” Brackins clears up any misunderstanding: “On the other hand, girls have “OB”s too, I know plenty of girls that share a common liking in a guy and don’t mind if the other spends time with him. Therefore, “OB” is Our Boy from the female perspective.”
