The world of garments that double-up as other garments tends to be limited to reversible jackets. But for SS19, fashion’s versatility has never been so outside the box, and this denim trouser jacket by Dutch label BOTTER is leading the way.
This black jacket is constructed from a single pair of oversized jeans that can be worn as both a transitional V-neck denim jacket or as pants. A statement design however you choose to rock it, the piece(s?) come with a concealed front button closure under the fly, jean legs that are constructed into sleeves, a branded patch stitched onto its back, and contrast white stitching throughout.
Since its nomination for 2018’s coveted LVMH prize, this is not the only piece by BOTTER to come with a dual purpose this season, having also released a pair of black sweatpants which double as a sweater alongside its wider collection of fashion-forward, oversized designs. The jacket/jeans hybrid is available now at SSENSE for $1,225, or approximately $612 per piece if you’re really trying to justify that price tag.
