While Riccardo Tisci’s SS19 show is still front of mind for many, Burberry‘s FW18 collection sees abundant use of its iconic check pattern on clothing, shoes, and all kinds of accessories. Under the creative direction of Christopher Bailey, who stayed with the heritage brand for 17 years before handing over the reins to former Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci, there are plenty of dope pieces to cop for the season ahead.
Tisci’s debut as Burberry’s chief creative officer at London Fashion Week combined Burberry classics and tailored suits with his own creative vision, seen on monogram-heavy sportswear, deconstructed tees, and more. Among the most talked about innovations was a new interpretation of the nova check, now more of a “half nova”, sporting only horizontal stripes.
But as much of the SS19 collection won’t be available for a few months yet, the brand’s FW18 collection can be shopped in all its glory now. So for those wanting to stock up on classic Burberry pre-Tisci check, we’ve selected some of the best pieces of the season. From house check to vintage and 1983 signature patterns, the current offerings have something for everyone.
