Brand: C2H4

Location: New York, NY

Season: Spring/Summer 2018

Key Pieces: White carpenter jacket with all-over X-ray hand graphics, aqua Kappa logo windbreaker, nylon tearaway pants, jersey cotton bondage pants with Kappa logo tie-ups.

Editor’s Notes: Designer Yixi Chen took attendees to a fictional Mars mission when presenting her latest collection, "Zero Gravity." Based off the idea of what chemists would wear in 2082, the show traded music for a simulation of a space ride, narrated by a robotic voice warning people about meteorite storms and other outer space hazards.

Monochromatic tones veered towards the gunmetal charcoal of Apple's appropriately-named "Space Grey," accented by pops of yellow, red and blue. The collection also saw the debut of a collaborative capsule with Kappa, exaggerating the sportswear brand's side stripe motifs on hoodie and track pants.

Titled "Undecayable," the Kappa collab also alludes to the brand's name—which is the molecular structure of ethylene, a preservative used to keep fruit ripe, among other things. There are also plenty of Vans shoes featured throughout, some accented with a strap over the upper, further reinforcing the space-age vibe.
