Cardi B has taken to Instagram to respond to backlash over a recently-surfaced Instagram Live video she made three years ago.

In the video, Cardi claimed that during her days as a stripper she would lure men into hotel rooms for sex, only to drug and rob them instead. Watch the clip below.

“I’m a part of a hip-hop culture where you can talk about where you come from, talk about the wrong things you had to do to get where you are,” she explained in a note posted to Instagram.

Cardi went onto point out that while there "are rappers that glorify murder violence drugs an robbing," she has never glorified the crimes mentioned in the video because she isn't proud of them. She claims to feel a responsibility over not glorifying crime.
