From giant gold chains adorned with whales and eyeballs to its own platform spin on the Nike Cortez, COMME des GARÇONS has never been one to shy away from making a fashion statement. The brand’s latest tailoring is no different.
Released under its Homme Plus line, this new color-blocked blazer by COMME des GARÇONS is not only double the jacket for your money — with a pink cotton blazer overlayed with a two-toned check wool one — but it also looks as though it’s been through an industrial-sized paper shredder.
Coming in a yellow check on one side and a muted grey check on the other, the outer layer of the blazer features long, shredded panels on both the front and back, as well as further distressed details throughout. Shredding aside, though, the piece does not lose its sharp aesthetic with classic tailoring tropes such as notched lapels and a three button closure, not forgetting its fully-formed pink inner layer.
In classic CdG style, the Japanese-made blazer comes with the designer price tag of $2,615, but it sure beats your standard officewear. Take a closer look below, and click through if you’re looking to tear up the tailoring rule book.
