In support of her upcoming third album, this week Charli XCX delivers the second single from the work. Titled "Boys," the song — which finds the pop star teaming up alongside Jerker Hansson and Cass Lowe — has been unleashed to the world via an official music video, directed by Charli herself.
As could be expected, the entertaining clip is indeed filled with a number of "Boys," starring the likes of Stormzy, Mark Ronson, Diplo, Joe Jonas, Brendon Urie, will.i.am, Mac DeMarco, Riz Ahmed and more. Ultimately, the aesthetic is meant to playfully challenge gender stereotypes in music videos/film.
“'Boys' is my favorite music video I've ever made," says Charli. "I just wanna say a big thanks to all the boys involved, for totally embracing and understanding my vision and being excited by the concept p.s. no boys were harmed in the making of this video.”
Charli XCX's forthcoming album is due out next year.
