Donald Glover's Atlanta is only halfway through its debut season, but it seems fair to say that the show has proven to be a raging success. The semi-autobiographical sitcom about a failed artist trying to work his way up through the bustling hip-hop scene of the Southern metropolis has already been renewed for a second season, and has received one rave review after the other.

But real Glover fanatics who tuned into last night's episode of the series received a particularly special treat: a taste of what appears to be an unreleased track from Childish Gambino.

But of course, Childish Gambino is also Donald Glover, making the inclusion of new music under that moniker about as meta and multilayered as it gets. As of press time, the track remains untitled and perhaps even unfinished, as all that exists is a two-minute snippet that appeared toward the end of last night's airing.

Since Glover has been hard at work prepping his sitcom, it has been a fair bit of time since we have heard anything new from Gambino, his last release being an EP titled Kauai from two years ago. But with five episodes left in this season of the show, who knows what else may be revealed.

Atlanta airs every Tuesday on FX. Stay tuned for more info on any upcoming Childish Gambino music. In the meantime, check out our guide to the essential Atlanta hip-hop albums you need to hear before viewing the show.

In other music news, superstar of SoundCloud Kaytranada just released an infectiously joyous music video for his song "You're the One." Watch it right here.
