Snowboarder Chloe Kim is officially the youngest woman to win an Olympic gold medal on snow for Team USA.

Competing in the women's snowboarding competition in South Korea, the seventeen-year-old wowed judges with an incredible half-pipe performance to land her first Olympic gold medal.

Some two years ago, Kim also made history as the youngest woman to land back-to-back 1080s—or three complete in-air rotations—in women’s snowboarding.

Check out her winning trick below.

As expected, the winning moment was an emotional one. Her parents, who emigrated from South Korea, joined the California native for her defining moment.

Speaking to USA today, Kim said: “You work for something so long, and it’s finally here,” Kim added. “You go home with the best possible outcome, it's amazing. Just realizing how far I’ve come as a person and as an athlete. Standing on that podium, everything kind of combines. You realize that you won and you did a good run and you’re excited about everything."

With such an achievement already under her belt, the future is definitely looking bright for Kim and other women in sports.
