There's more to New York City based artist Cindy Sherman beyond her recent Supreme Decks collaboration. As a key figure in the fields of costuming and photography, Sherman's focus on conceptual portraits redefined image culture in the 1970s.

The Long Island native, who originally studied painting, went on to master photography and produce a multitude of series looking into stereotypical depictions of women, the role of the artist, and kitsch notions of sexuality.

In the mid to late '90s, Sherman began to work with fashion, creating concepts for runway shows as well as advertisements for numerous labels. Her work has been featured globally and now excitingly makes a return to New York with Supreme.

With an impressive resumé behind her, Highsnobiety takes a quick look at the artist's magnificent career in the video above.
