A-COLD-WALL*’s show at London Fashion Week SS20 brought with it a preview of yet another footwear collaboration, this time with Nike-owned Converse. The sneaker in question (above) looks to be a Chuck Taylor that has been upgraded to sit in an exaggerated rubber outsole.
The collaboration’s upper looks to be a durable nylon with exposed stitching and hiking-inspired laces that wrap around the heel of the shoe. The entire design is rendered in a neutral grey and off-white colorway.
The label’s founder, Samuel Ross, is known not to shy away from unconventional design features, as seen in his previous collaborations with Nike. Ross’s take on the Zoom Vomero featured pre-aged materials and a pronounced heel sculpture that served as a nod to Ross’ appreciation for brutalist architecture.
Previewed alongside the Chuck Taylor was also an in-line A-COLD-WALL* sneaker, which looks to take inspiration from the Air Force 1 and features a high-top ankle strap construction. Check it out below.
