Editor’s Notes: Converse is paying tribute to the game of basketball and its influence on street style with a new NBA collection. As a nod to the sneaker that virtually every player was wearing on the court back in 1949, the brand presents a three tier Chuck Taylor All Star collection consisting of Gameday, Legend and Franchise variations.
The Gameday ($238 USD each) assortment includes 250 limited edition pairs, representing each of the 30 teams in the NBA. The sneakers are numbered, thus noting construction from authentic NBA jerseys, backed with supple leather lining. NBA-specific branding is also appropriately featured.
The Legend ($238 USD each) is a more luxe iteration for the sophisticated fan. These in turn highlight five storied franchises — the Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, LA Lakers and NY Knicks — that have their histories woven throughout each shoe.
Lastly, the Franchise ($107 USD each) is all about city pride, representing 13 NBA teams. The shoes welcome embroidered branding on the tongue, with tonal laces and multicolor aglets, and are covered in jersey individually screen-printed with the given team franchise.
Additionally, Converse presents a selection of matching NBA apparel including a winter wool bomber jacket with Primaloft fill, hooded coaches jacket, hoodie, crewneck, long-sleeve tee and jogger.
